Drink alcohol responsibly

Most people have a drink with their meal or toast on special occasions. There is nothing wrong with that, as long as you can do without it.

If you can no longer do without it, then that can become a problem: you are then in danger of becoming dependent on alcohol. You can even become addicted to it.

Are you still in control?

Do you have control over your drinking? This means, among other things, that you can stop when you want. Or only drink on special occasions.

Moti55 helps you make good choices about how much or when you drink. You get free advice and tips from an expert in your area.

Tips for responsible alcohol consumption

Perhaps you need a little push to deal with alcohol in a healthy way. Check out these tips. The tips are based on the guidelines for responsible alcohol consumption of the Health Council.

Don't drink anything

Not drinking at all is the healthiest. If you do drink, drink a maximum of one glass per day. And don't drink at least two days a week.

Do not participate in traffic

Strange but true

Drinking alcohol makes you thirstier. This is because alcohol takes moisture out of your body. So alternate alcohol with a glass of soda or water. Or drink tea, water and soda for thirst and alcohol 'with it'.

Be aware of yourself

Do you drink for pleasure, or to drink away stress, or emotions such as being angry or sad? If you join Moti55 you can discuss this for free with an expert in your area.

Say no once in a while

Don't drink because someone else buys you another round, but make your own choices.

Adjust your pace

Are you always the first to empty your glass? Look at the pace of the others. Also try to be the last to empty your glass.

Do not drink together

Don't drink liquor and beer at the same time. Don't combine alcohol with other drugs.
